What stays on your phone
Your answers, scores, saved quizzes, streak and the question packs you download are stored only on this phone (in the browser's storage). Jaribu has no student accounts. We do not ask for your name, phone number or email to study.
Clearing the browser's site data, or uninstalling the app, deletes this information. We cannot recover it for you.
What our server sees
Your phone downloads the app and question files from jaribu.app, which is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare handles normal connection data (for example your IP address) to deliver the pages. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Planned: anonymous referral counting
Some students will join through a school or promoter link (for example jaribu.app/?ref=ABC12). We plan to count how many students each link brings and whether they keep studying. When this is switched on it will record only: a random ID created on this phone, the link code, when study sessions start and end, how many questions are in each finished quiz, the app version and screen size. It will not record your name, phone number, email or answers. IP addresses are turned into a one-way code (hash) on our server, only to stop cheating, and are not stored in readable form.
Payments
Online payment is not open yet. When it opens, a parent pays through a payment company's page (for example M-Pesa via Paystack or Flutterwave). Jaribu will receive only the payment confirmation and the child's Jaribu code, not card or M-Pesa PIN details.
